Introduction
  The course aims to teach techniques of field measurements of sea ice and oceans, and to understand the physical and biological properties of sea ice and the relationship between ice and ocean, through observations at Lake Saroma and the Sea of Okhotsk (Shiretoko) in winter. This course is conducted with lecturers and students from both within and outside Japan.
